11/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Savannah, GA Olivia Horton is a 2023 second baseman and right handed pitcher. As a second baseman she starts in an athletic fielding position and has good pre-pitch movement. She uses active quick feet to move effectively to the ground ball. She presents her hands, stays low on the ball and absorbs the catch. She also has good feeds to first base. On the throw, Olivia has a quick arm action and makes accurate throws. By raising her arm slot on the ball up the middle she will increase her throwing strength and accuracy. In the circle, Olivia has good fundamentals and mechanics. She is athletic, calm and confident. She keeps her hips open on her stride with fluid arm action and she extends through her release. By working on her leg drive and wrist action she will raise her velocity and effectiveness. At the plate, Olivia starts with a square and athletic stance and has a short soft stride. She uses a good load with her hands and body and then transfers her weight directly to contact. She hits the ball consistently to the middle of the field. Overall, Olivia has an advanced skill set and room to grow.
