08/11/2019 - College PREP - Louisville, KY Payton is a 2021 shortstop with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has active feet and range to her glove side. She stays short in her action to the ball and makes accurate throws to her target. She is a vocal leader on her the field and keeps solid momentum through each play. Offensively, she is square in her set up and sees the ball well to her barrel. She has power potential in her swing but needs to work on keeps her hands inside the ball consistently so that she can drive the ball hard to all parts of the field. Overall, Payton is very coachable and has great work ethic.
