01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Payton is a lean catcher who has a promising future on the field. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow her to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 1.94 with accuracy / carry (59 mph velocity) on her throws. At the plate she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (69 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as she utilizes her lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player. With 4 years to further develop, Patyon has the makings of a special type player as she continues to progress her game.
