12/27/2014 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Rachel is a talented RHP / 1B with a well balanced skill set. Defensively, she understands the mental and physical aspects of the game. Naturally, she relies on her pitching arsenal to attack hitters. She has a good mound presence and pitchability to help her aggressively approach an opponent. Continuing to work on getting ahead in the count and keeping the arm tight against the body will help to improve drive towards the hitter allowing her to be more effective with velocity and movement. As a 1B, she has an athletic fielding position while aggressively attacking the ball with good footwork. Continuing to stay down and through the ball will help to improve efficiency. Overall, Rachel has a hunger for the game and confident approach on the field. As a hitter, she produces line drive contact consistently. She shows natural power and will benefit from working on a consistent weight transfer and stronger wrists to generate more power, allowing her to access the entire field more effectively. Overall, Rachel has a solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
06/20/2014 - College PREP - Savannah, GA Rachel is a freshman right-handed pitcher / first baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, Rachel uses an athletic stance and a short arm swing to deliver the ball. She has a mixture of pitches that she uses to attack each batter. Rachel has the best movement on her drop ball. She keeps her pitches low in the zone and seems to produce a lot of ground outs. By keeping her elbow tighter to her body and reaching to the sky on her arm swing, Rachel will only create more whip on her pitches. Defensively, Rachel gives a lot of effort to make every play happen. Offensively, Rachel uses a slightly closed stance, downward load, and a short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She is a whole hitter that keeps her weight slightly on the front side. Rachel consistently makes hard contact with the ball and drives to the extension position. Rachel will benefit from working on her weight transfer through the ball. Overall, Rachel is a young player that will continue to grow and develop.
