05/30/2013 - College World Series Select Training Rebecca continues to develop athletically. Her work ethic and determination sets a tone on the field. As a C, she is aggressive and a natural leader. Continuing to focus on throwing accuracy, an athletic set up, vocal cues, and fluid footwork will increase agility, consistency, and command behind the plate. As a hitter, she has a square set up with quick bat speed that produces contact. Continuing to focus on driving the hands through the zone, implementing a stride and load, and utilizing the lower half will increase power and consistency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase agility, athleticism, and endurance. With continued application of recommendations, Rebecca will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
02/18/2013 - College PREP - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Rebecca is an athletic C/OF with a developing skill set. As a C, she has soft, sure hands, gets around the bunt well and is quiet with her movements pre-pitch. She will benefit from keeping her feet square, holding her stance (do not drop knees) and improving her blocking stance to improve safety/effectiveness. As an OF, Rebecca has a similar skill set but adds the ability to read the ball off the bat well before closing on balls with great hustle. She will benefit from raising her arm slot, presenting her glove earlier and keeping her foot work to throw short and quick. She does a nice job of getting behind balls in the air and should continue to work hard on routes and angles to be a more complete defender. At the plate, Rebecca uses a square set up with a downward load and a short stride before launching downhill to contact. She hits the ball hard at times and will be more consistent if she uses her lower half more aggressively, quiets her actions to aid in tracking and finishes her swing through contact to create extension. Overall, Rebecca should continue to seek quality instruction to ensure her development continues in a timely manner, she plays with energy and is always hustling which is a terrific quality.
