06/03/2021 - Softball Factory College World Series - Prospects Select Training Reese is an athletic 2025 RHP/1B that attended the College World Series Select Training Event! Pitching wise, Reese throws a fastball, changeup, and rise ball. She throws strikes, has a strong windup, and a good release. Her changeup is a good speed variation from her fast pitches, and she has great break on her rise ball. Something for her to work on is using her legs more which will help with her speed. On defense, she has good footwork and a quick first step. She moves to the ball well and has good range. She makes accurate throws and gets over the top of the ball well. Something for her to work on is being in a lower defensive position when fielding the ball. Hitting wise, she has a good setup in the box and stays controlled. She has a good load and is a line drive hitter. If she can work on being more explosive and driving her lower half more she will hit the ball harder. Overall, Reese was a great player to work with and has a lot of potential with the game!
01/24/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Newnan (Atlanta), GA Reese is a very talented/athletic 2-way player (1B/RHP) who can make things happen in a variety of ways. On the mound, this RHP has an arsenal of pitches to keep hitters guessing. She maintains fluid tempo, drives in-line toward the dish and repeats well. FB jumps out of her hand and cracks the mitt ranging from 50-51 mph as she commands it well to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball has tight spin as she can throw it for a strike in any count. Riseball has good/late movement and compliments her FB well - 45-47 mph. At 1B, Reese has active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. She presents her glove, low and out in front tracking the ball into her mitt. She moves well around the 1B bag adjusting her feet quickly. Offensively, this RHH displays an athletic/balanced stance with active hands to load. She fires the barrel at pitches she likes, engages her lower 1/2 and connects with pop, driving the ball from gap-to-gap. Hickey is a very skilled 2-way prospect who has a very bright future ahead of her in the game.
