08/13/2013 - College PREP - Elgin (Chicago), IL Samantha is a versatile 3B/OF with a steady skill set on both sides of the ball. As a 3B, Samantha has soft hands at times, has agile range with developing footwork and has a strong arm that plays accurately. Continuing to work on fielding further out front will help infield play and allow her to play through the ball with better foot work to throw. As an OF, Samantha gets behind the ball well, approaches the ball aggressively and will benefit from eliminating a step in her crow hop before aggressively following throws to improve carry/flight. At the plate, Samantha uses a closed stance with back load, a short stride and keeps her balance centered before launching her short swing to the ball. She throws her hands through the zone well, has an above average bunt game to apply pressure to opposing defenses and should continue to work on incorporating her lower half to add to an already impressive display of power.
