01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Savannah continues to show as a prospect on the field. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. She has good stride length and throws with an intent. Fastball showed a range of 54-55 mph. Drop sits 55-56 mph with sink. Rise sits 52-53. Control is solid as she throws strikes with all her pitches. At the plate, she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (72 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
09/04/2020 - Softball Factory All-Region Tournament Smith continues to progress and did so again during her time at the All-Region Tournament. She steps onto the mound with confidence and looks to attack hitters and pound the zone with strikes. She maintains good tempo, repeats well and mixes her pitches, keeping hitters guessing. She drives off of the mound and works to keep the ball down in the zone, resulting in GB outs. As a hitter, she stands in with good balance and looks for a pitch she likes. She barrels the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field (exit velocity now at 70 mph). Savannah is a hard worker who should find success in this only her sophomore year.
12/27/2019 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Prospects) Savannah Smith is a 2023 left-handed pitcher and first baseman with a strong skill set. On the mound, Savannah has excellent poise, is aggressive, and can put hitters away. She is projected as a power pitcher who accelerates through her leg drive. At first base, she is athletic and is aggressive towards balls in the dirt. Offensively, Savannah is a gap-to-gap hitter with hard contact and an on-plane swing. Overall, Savannah is coachable, has good aptitude, and is a team player.
08/11/2019 - College PREP - Louisville, KY Savannah Smith is a 2023 left-handed pitcher with a strong skill set. On the mound, she demonstrates a great attitude accompanied with a calm presence. Savannah can keep hitters off balance with a drop-ball, screwball, and change-up combination. Offensively, Savannah can put the ball in gaps due to her hard contact and centered balance. She shows a lot of power potential. Overall, Savannah is a good athlete who looks forward to growing within the game.
