03/24/2019 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Shannon Hunter is a 2019 strong first baseman. Defensively, she has active feet and a smooth backhand. She gets low to the ground ball and has great hand eye coordination. With even more hips and shoulders turn to her target on her throw and backside follow through after the release she will increase her strength and accuracy. Offensively, Shannon has a tall athletic stance. Her stride is on time but a little heavy on the front side. By creating earlier rhythm and loading her hands back instead of down with explosion towards contact from the backside leg she will be able to transfer her weight more efficiently to the pitch. Overall, Shannon is raw and very strong. She is extremely coachable, has a great work ethic and can become a power hitter at the next level.
