She adjusts well behind the dish and has advanced framing and blocking mechanics. At SS, Shiann is light on her feet and moves well from left to right. She has a quick exchange from glove to hand and makes plays. In the box, Shiann is smooth and aggressive. Her swing is level and when squared, power is present. A true offensive threat. Overall, Shiann is a versatile athlete with a strong skill-set.
10/06/2019 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Shiann is a 2024 catcher with a developing skill set. Defensively, Shiann has good mechanics and a strong presence behind the plate. She has efficient footwork and stays in a low, athletic position. Shiann has smooth timing when she receives the ball. She exchanges the ball quickly and has a fast release for an accurate and on-line throw to her target. As a slapper, Shiann has good footwork through the box and keeps her barrel quick to contact. She sees the ball well to her barrel and has good ball placement. Overall, Shiann hustles, works hard, and is very coachable.
