02/24/2013 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Summer is an aggressive 3B from the 2013 class. Defensively, she has a coachable approach to the position and is capable of applying coaching quickly. She uses her lower half well to throw and will benefit from playing lower at the hips with earlier glove position out front with her fingers down. She is aggressive to the ball but under control and should continue to work on raising her arm slot and working from the ground up to further develop. At the plate, Summer uses a crouched set up with no load or stride and keeps her weight back before launching to the ball. She has good hand-eye coordination, is aggressive in her approach and flashes pop when ball is centered. Moving forward, keeping her hands up in her set up and using her lower half more aggressively to improve bat speed and overall quality of contact should be her focus with balance and timing remaining a priority. Overall, Summer is a strong young lady whom is very coachable and capable of making adjustments quickly, and should continue to seek quality instruction/reps to properly develop in a timely manner.
