10/06/2013 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Sydney is an evolving athlete with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she plays two positions, C and 3B, and understands the demands of both positions well. As a C, she shows potential with her skill set and has a great attitude. Working on receiving and blocking skills will help to improve fielding efficiency. As a 3B, she fields with sure hands and makes accurate throws to the bag. Working on an athletic fielding position will help to improve efficiency. Overall, Sydney is aggressive and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a short stride to help her launch towards the ball with a level swing. She shows good power at times and will benefit from driving the hands quickly through the zone to improve power on contact, ultimately, allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Sydney has a good frame for the positions at 5'6 and has solid athletic ability to aid in her continued development as a player.
