11/24/2013 - College PREP - Savannah, GA Sydney is a hard working, coachable, junior catcher. Defensively, Sydney is very vocal and made many adjustments throughout the event. Sydney has soft and sure hand behind the plate combined with a quick release. She sets up a good target and works with the pitchers. Working on her blocking and transfers will sharpen her skills. Offensively, Sydney uses a square setup, short stride, and center balance to make contact. Working on her swing path and staying inside the ball will improve her ability to hit to all sides of the field. Overall, Sydney is a very coachable athlete that will continue to grow and develop.
