Defensively, Talia uses a square, athletic fielding position with an out front and on time approach. She has sure hands with fluid and active footwork, which leads her to having agile range. Talia has quick feeds and pivots and transitions into her throwing position smoothly. Offensively, Talia uses a square and athletic set up with an on time load and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. Talia maintains centered balance while using an explosive lower half and fast bat speed. Talia has fluid rhythm and consistently makes hard contact with the ball. By staying taller through her swing path, Talia can become even more powerful. Overall, Talia is very athletic and will continue to develop as a player.
01/12/2014 - College PREP - Boca Raton, FL Talia is an athletic short stop with a strong bat and advanced skill set. Defensively, Talia uses an athletic pre pitch position with quick feet to attack the ball. She has fluid footwork with agile range and she takes correct angles to the ball. Talia has soft hands and an accurate throw across the diamond. Talia will benefit from keeping her body under control when playing in the field. Offensively, Talia uses a slightly closed stance with a short stride to create a positive move to the ball. She maintains centered balance and takes a short bat path to the ball. Talia is an aggressive hitter with quick bat speed and consistently hits the ball hard. By adding a load to her swing, Talia will generate more power. Also, by keeping her head down through her entire swing, Talia will notice more consistency to all sides of the field. Overall, Talia is very athletic and knows the game well. Talia will continue to develop into a collegiate level player.
12/27/2013 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Talia is a solid, athletic freshman shortstop with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she has a very strong and accurate arm for her age, topping out at 61 mph. While fielding, she has clean hands with quick and active footwork, which gives her agile range. She has sure and quick feeds with efficient pivots. Offensively, Talia uses a closed, crouch stance with a backwards load and a short stride to create an explosive movement to the ball. She has quick bat speed with a level swing which leads her to consistently make hard contact. Talia is what we would call a "power guy", she has a very fluid and confident swing. Overall, Talia is a tremendous athlete that will get the job done. She is very coachable and has a great attitude towards the game and her teammates. Talia will continue to grow and develop into a collegiate level player.
06/24/2013 - Softball Factory World Series Talia continues to develop athletically with maturity. Her athletic indicators for her age are great as she ran her best 30 yard dash to date at a 4.19, and her arm strength currently tops out at 60 mph--both good scores for a rising freshman. Her willingness to listen and make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As a SS, she has an athletic field positioning, active footwork, and decent range. Continuing to focus on confident glovework, fielding out front, and a controlled approach will increase efficiency. As a hitter, she has a balanced set up with a short bat path, a stride and load and quick bat speed, fluid rhythm/timing, and produces hard contact. Continuing to focus on driving the hands through the hitting zone, utilizing the lower half, and finishing the swing will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Talia continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
