12/27/2012 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament - Texas Taylor continues to show signs of progression as a young athlete. As a second baseman, she made adjustments in regards to working down and through balls and glove positioning. Further focus on the fundamentals of her position (i.e., soft/sure hands, fluid footwork, field positioning, range and feeds) will be needed to advance her skill set and overall performance. At the plate, Taylor has a short stride and balanced swing that results in consistent contact. Her power and efficiency will improve dramatically if she implements an aggressive approach with a stride and load, explosive hips and a short bat path. As a whole, Taylor will continue to develop through application and experience.
10/14/2012 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Taylor is a young 2B with a developing skill set. Defensively, her hands work ok and she shows some feel for the position. She can throw on the run and from different arm slots which is vital to playing in the middle infield. She should focus on improving her glove position out front and working to keep her feet active pre pitch while anticipating action. To further develop, a throwing program to safely increase arm strength and an agility program are always two important areas to commit to. At the plate, Taylor uses a square set up with a back load, no stride and keeps her balance centered before launching to the ball. She shows good bat control and has the ability to make consistent contact, but will make stronger contact if she uses her lower half more aggressively and sees the ball deeper into the hitting zone. Overall, Taylor is a player to keep an eye on and should seek quality reps and instruction to ensure her development.
