01/11/2014 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Vanessa is a sophomore outfielder with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Vanessa has soft hands and a quick transfer into her throwing position. She has playable and efficient footwork with agile range. Vanessa also has an accurate arm and keeps the ball low. By getting behind the ball when she is catching a pop up she will be able to add momentum to her throw. Offensively, Vanessa uses a closed stance with a slightly upward swing to make a positive move to the ball. Vanessa has quick bat speed, which leads her to consistently make hard contact. She is a strong hitter that hits the ball square. By working on staying inside the ball Vanessa will be able to hit the ball to all sides of the field. Overall, Vanessa is a hard worker that will continue to develop as a player.
