11/07/2013 - Softball Factory Select Training at Vero Beach Victoria is an evolving C with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she uses a stable, athletic set up, receives with confident, firm glovework and takes good angles when blocking various balls. Working on a quicker release will help her to improve throwing efficiency and pop times. Overall, Victoria commands the field well and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses an athletic, square set up with mid hands, a back load, a square stride and keeps here balance centered before launching to the ball with a level swing producing line drive contact. She shows good power and will benefit from an explosive lower half and quicker bat speed to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Victoria is a natural leader and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as player.
06/09/2013 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Victoria is a R/R Catcher from the 2015 class. Defensively, she displays soft sure hands and a developing feel for receiving. She has good flexibility in her lower half, is an accurate thrower and will benefit from improving quickness in footwork to throw, gaining a better understanding of receiving (framing) and sharpening her body control to block with better angles and anticipation. At the plate, Victoria uses a square set up with no load, a short stride and keeps her weight back before launching to the ball. Long at times, her swing recovers with the help of impressive bat speed to hit balls hard at times. To improve consistency, Victoria will need to continue to work on seeing the ball deeper into the zone, controlling her bat head throughout her swing and keeping the bat head through contact to improve extension through the zone. Overall, Victoria is a strong young lady with a developing skill set and an obvious passion for playing the game, with continued hard work she is athletic enough to make all the above mentioned adjustments and take her game to a new level.
