10/20/2019 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Arystan is a young (2025 grad) R/R 1B who works hard on the diamond. With the bat, this RHH displays a tall setup with patience waiting for a pitch she likes. She has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that she cannot handle. She takes a hack and creates hard contact, driving the ball on a line. Swinging on a more direct path while engaging her lower 1/2 will result in increased power. Defensively, Buchanan is aggressive and comes to get the GB. She tracks the ball into her mitt and gathers well. She moves well around the 1B bag and is sure handed with throws coming up and down the line. Arystan has a solid skill-set with still a ton of time to develop to get to where she wants to be.
