05/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Henrico (Richmond), VA Ashawnti is a 2023 right handed shortstop with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has an over the top arm slot on her throws and takes good angles to the ball. She needs to work on being smoother on her backhand side and not stabbing at the ball. She works really hard and if she can keep working on staying low in her legs when fielding she will start to create more range at shortstop. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a short stride to the ball. She is fluid in her rhythm and center in her balance. She sees the ball well and shows power to her pull side. Overall, Ashawnti will improve her game with continued hard work.
