06/19/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Orange, CA Ashley is a 2023 second baseman and pitcher with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has quick feet and range to both sides. She stays low and athletic in her fielding position and has soft hands when receiving the ball. She has a clean exchange on her throws to her target and is short in her action to the ball. She has strength behind her throws and keeps her throw on line to her target. On the mound, she has a calm presence and extends through well on her release. She stays tall in her finish and fluid in her arm action. She has a loose wrist snap and good movement on her pitches. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She loads back well in her legs and stays center in her balance. Her hips and hands work well together through her swing and she makes hard contact up the middle. While slapping, she keeps er hands direct to the ball and has controlled footwork through the box. She is calm in her load and places the ball well in the 5/6 hole. Overall, Ashley works hard and if she continues to do so, she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
