05/25/2012 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Ashley is a strong, young 3B with an advanced skill set. As a defender, Ashley displays an aggressive approach to the infield, she keeps the ball in front and makes the routine play and should focus on improving glove position (out front) as well as bending at the knees to field further out front. In the batter's box, Ashley uses a square set-up with no load and a long stride with her weight slightly back and mostly on her heels. She makes adjustments quickly and has a very coachable demeanor at the plate. To improve quality of contact, she will need to continue to work at using her lower half more aggressively, as well as eliminating her tendency to lock out her front leg which causes her to roll over on ground balls and not realize her power potential. Overall she is a good young player who needs to continue to get reps on both sides of the ball as well as consider a conditioning program to get the most out of her athletic ability.
