12/27/2023 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Ashley is a 2027 grad who pitches and plays shortstop. Ashley has an effective changeup, keeps her pitches low in the zone, and hit a top speed of 58MPH with her fast and curve. At short, Ashley is athletic and takes good angles to the ball. She can throw from multiple arm slots and makes plays on the run. In the box, she uses her hips well and hits the ball consistently up the middle of the field. Overall, Ashley is an athlete with the skill set and ability to take her game to the next level. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as she enters her freshman season.
01/13/2023 - Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ashley is a 2027 grad out of Bedford, MA who pitches and plays 2B. She plays with heart. Ashley has a great curveball and composure on the mound. Her changeup is effective, and she keeps it low in the zone. Ashley uses her body well as she is small in stature. She is a contact hitter with controlled mechanics in the box. She continues to show strides of reaching her full potential. Overall, Ashley is engaged and has a solid set of skills on the diamond.
01/14/2022 - 2022 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ashley is a 2027 RHP out of Bedford, MA who attended the Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All America Tournament! Pitching wise, she throws a fastball, change up, and curve ball. She has a calm and controlled motion, good release on her pitches, and good arm speed. Hitting wise, she is relaxed in the box, has good rhythm, and hits the ball to all fields. Overall, Ashley is a great teammate and someone our coaching staff always enjoys working with!
03/21/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Ashley continues to show as a prospect on the field. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (60 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 2B, she displays smooth / fluid. Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with her body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as she improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry to her target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. She has good stride length and throws with an intent. Fastball showed a range of 46-47 mph. Changeup sits 35-36 mph with sink. Drop sits 34-35 mph.
12/27/2019 - Softball Factory Christmas Select Training (Futures) Ashley Schuman is a 2027 right-handed utility player with a developing skill set. Defensively, Ashley has an athletic fielding position and an on-time pre-pitch approach. She presents her hands early and is able to work behind and through the ball. Her exchange is fast and her throw is accurate to her target. Offensively, Ashley has a square setup and short stride to the ball. She loads well into her lower half and has the ability to make contact consistently. As Ashley gets more comfortable with in game experience, her overall confidence will increase. Overall, Ashley is an athlete who has a great attitude, is coachable, hardworking, and a team player.
