12/27/2020 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament - Prospects Aubrey continues to show as a prospect on the field with improvements in her softball abilities. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.12 range with accuracy to her target. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, she shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (65 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach, utilizing the middle of the field well. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be.
02/09/2020 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Aubrey Gilchrist is a 2024 right-handed utility player with a strong skill set. Behind the plate, she has quick and fluid footwork and good lateral movements. She presents her glove well to each pitch and receives with soft hands. She has sound technique and an accurate throw from both her feet and knees. At first base, she has good footwork around the ball and is agile in her range. She has good double play footwork and is quick with her exchange. Offensively, she has an athletic setup and square stride. She loads well in her pre-pitch approach and has an explosive barrel through the zone. She makes hard contact and shows power to her pull side. Overall, Aubrey is an athlete with a hard work ethic and great attitude.
