03/01/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Ava is a young C/SS that showed very strong defensive skill & ability at her first Softball Factory outing. At SS, she works her feet actively, gets around ground balls to pick her hops and creates good angles to finish plays. She had plus rhythm/fluidity in her fielding mechanics and was quick with her exchange to throw. Continued work on her double play feeds, knowing when to flip, or throw, will enhance her overall ability in the middle. Behind the plate, she sits square and has a clean exchange to throw accurately with a short arm stroke. Most impressively, Ava had advanced feel to block, centering the ball on her chest and deadening the ball in front. Offensively, she hit from a square/athletic setup with good hand/hip coordination. She used all fields well, and had good barrel accuracy by keeping her head quiet. In all - Ava is a really exciting young player that has an impressive skillset that we look forward to tracking!
