01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Calonnie Holmes is a 2025 right-handed utility player with an exceptional skill set. She was able to showcase her skills in a multitude of areas during this event. Defensively, she can play both shortstop and outfield and has developed mechanics in each area. She has an athletic fielding position and agility in her lateral range. She has a strong 1st step off contact and fields with soft hands out in front of her eyes. She has a strong arm and accurate throw to her targets. Her double play mechanics are sound and athletic movements. Offensively, she has a tall setup and short stride to the ball. She activates her lower half well and has a fluid motion throughout her swing. Her barrel is on-plane and explosive through the zone allowing her to get on base and score runners. She has the ability to beat out a bunt put in play and is aggressive in the box and on the bases. Overall, Calonnie is a ball player who is a great all-around athlete.
