06/18/2012 - College PREP - Ashland, OH Carleigh is a young, athletic 1B with good instincts and a strong approach to the game. Defensively, she plays in a low, flexed position and has sure hands with fluid footwork around the bag and into the 4 hole. She is solid on double play feeds and does well with short hops in the dirt. She will benefit from continuing to work on raising arm slot and playing through the ball more aggressively with improved glove position (out front) and active feet in her prep step. At the plate, she has a square set-up with no load, centered balance and makes consistent, solid contact to the pull side. She generates good bat speed, and is a clean stride and separation hitter with good rhythm and an active lower half.
