02/17/2020 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Cate Pastori is a 2024 catcher and second baseman with a strong skill set. Behind the plate, she has efficient footwork and is agile in her lateral movements. She shifts well and receives into the plate with soft hands. She has fluid actions and a clean exchange to an accurate throw. She has good blocking techniques and keeps her head down and shoulders tucked to keep balls in front of her. At second base, she makes routine plays consistently and hustles after every ball. She has good reads off the bat and accurate throws from different arm slots. Offensively, Cate has the ability to hit from both sides of the plate for power. She has a square setup and short stride to the ball. She is loaded in her pre-pitch approach and smooth timing into each pitch. She makes hard contact and can hit strong line drives through the infield. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Cate as she finishes up he 8th grade year.
