03/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Ellery continues to show as a prospect with improvements in her softball abilities. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She utilizes her body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as she threw her lowest time to date at 1/94 with accuracy / carry (65 mph velocity) on her throws. At the plate, she continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (67 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ellery is a strong C/1B prospect who showed well at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Ellery tracks the ball into her glove well and makes a clean exchange. She gains ground on her throws, keeping them accurate with carry through the 2B bag. She is on time moving to block and creates a good spine angle to keep the ball in front of her. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and shows controlled rhythm. She rotates her core through the zone and produces consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Ellery is a talented prospect who has the potential to further develop her skills on the field.
