12/27/2020 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament - Prospects Ellie is a tall, lean catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Ellie continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve her lateral movements. Pop times showed a range of 2.14- 2.41 with accuracy to her target. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, she continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach, utilizing the middle of the field well. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be. With 5 years to further develop, Ellie has potential with time and room to progress her game.
