01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Hailey is a lean catcher who has a promising future on the field. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow her to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.00 with accuracy / carry (56 mph velocity) on her throws. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (64mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player. With 2 years to further develop, Hailey has potential with time and room to progress her game.
11/08/2019 - Softball Factory Select Training & Competition at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (Prospects) Hailey McCleary is a 2023 right handed shortstop and catcher with a strong skill set. Behind the plate, her throws down to second base are accurate due to a clean exchange and quick arm action. Her blocks are on time and her footwork is efficient and smooth. Offensively, Hailey makes consistent contact. Her lower half is explosive and her swing is on-plane and smooth. Overall, Hailey is an engaged athlete.
