Defensively, she has range to both sides and stays low through each play. She makes routine plays and is smooth in her transfer to her throws. She makes accurate throws to her target and keeps the ball in the infield. In the circle, she has a confident demeanor and extends through well on her release. She keeps an open hip direction and stays tall through her finish. She hits her spots well and changes speeds well. She is center in her balance and strong in her drive off of the mound. Offensively, she has an athletic set up in the box and a short stride to the ball. She stays balanced in her stance and has solid weight transfer through her swing. She makes hard contact to her pull side and keeps her bat level through the zone. Overall, Helaina has great work ethic and will do what it takes to play at the next level.
