06/29/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Jacksonville Storm Showcase - 16u Jana is a 2024 graduate who plays 1B and outfield. She has a strong build and wants to learn. In the field, Jana makes accurate throws. She sees the ball well and has power in the box with a 64MPH exit velocity speed. She has a square setup with a small load and on-time rhythm. Improving her throwing mechanics and not wrapping her hands will help Jana improve her game. Overall, Jana has the ability to improve her skills on the softball field.
02/17/2020 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Jana Hess is a 2024 LHP and first baseman with a strong skill set. Defensively, Jana has quick footwork and agility in her lateral movements. She fields from a low and athletic position and has an accurate throw to her target. In the circle, she has a calm presence and fluid arm action. She extends through well on her release, has an open hip direction and is tall in her finish. Jana has skilled mechanics, smooth motion and is able to mix speeds with accuracy to both sides of the plate. Offensively, she has a square setup and soft stride from the right side of the batter’s box. She is loaded, has fluid timing into each pitch and a fast barrel through the zone. She makes hard contact and is able to hit gap to gap for extra base hits.
