01/26/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Dayton, OH Mara is an athletic OF/2B prospect who continues to showcase her skills on the field. In the OF, Mara shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays. She makes a quick exchange and works through a quick release, keeping her throws accurate to her target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Mara improve as an OF. At 2B, Mara shows efficient footwork and moves well laterally. She fields in a square position and makes a quick exchange. She gets rid of the ball quickly and keeps her throws accurate and on-line to her target. Mara can improve as a 2B by presenting her hands to the ball sooner. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and squares up the softball well, producing solid line drives. Working a smoother load into her swing can help Mara improve as a hitter. Overall, Mara is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop her skills on the field.
05/31/2018 - Softball Factory College World Series Select Training (Grad Year 2023-2025) Mara is a 2023 right handed catcher and third baseman with a developing skill set. Defensively, at third base she keeps her head on the ball and in aggressive through each play. She needs to work on staying low through each play and not comes up to go laterally she will start to create more range in her defense abilities. On the mound, she has a calm presence and keeps an open hip direction. She stays tall in her finish and is free in her arm action. She has smooth mechanics and good spin on each of her pitches. Offensively, she has an open set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She stays center in her balance and makes adjustments each pitch. She has the ability to hit the ball to all sides of the field. Overall, Mara works hard and will do what it takes to play at the next level.
02/17/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Softball Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 11-13) Mara joins us for the Mid Atlantic Regional Softball Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend. On the mound, Mara uses a 4-pitch package and works to stay low in the zone. She has good control of her fastball and is able to throw that in high 30's. Working to use the proper stride in her power line will allow her to see an increase in her control and movements. Overall, Mara is a coachable player and with continued hard work she will be able to strengthen her skill set.
01/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Mara is a 2023 two-way player as a 3B/RHP. In the box, Mara is a RHH that uses an open stance. She works to put the ball in play and flashes line drive power. Working to engage her lower half will allow her to be strong in the box and generate more power through contact. At 3B, Mara handles the routine play. She works to get in line with her target and makes accurate throws. Working to play through the ball will allow her to cut down the distance to her target. On the mound, Mara has a developing skill set. She works to use a fluid arm action and does a nice job of finishing toward her target. Continuing to focus on her mechanics will allow her to see more movement and control of her pitches. Overall, Mara is a young player and with continued coaching she will be able to take her game to the next level.
