As a shortstop, Marissa has active footwork behind and through the ball. She receives with a soft glove out in front and has good double play mechanics. In the outfield, she can throw runners out at lead bases and tracks the ball well off the bat. She always hustles after balls on the ground and has an unquestionable work ethic. Offensively, Marissa has an athletic setup and activates well in her lower half. She sees the ball out of the hand well and makes hard contact consistently.
