10/19/2019 - College PREP - Erie, PA Megan Wassong is a 2020 right handed catcher with a developed skill set. Behind the plate, Megan has an athletic catching stance and active feet. She is agile in her lateral movements and frames the ball well into the zone. She has good blocking mechanics and has the ability to deaden the balls in front of her. She pops up quickly for bunt coverage and has good angles into the ball. Her throws are accurate and she shows strength with her release over the top. Offensively, Megan has a square setup and short stride to the ball. Her pre-pitch approach is on-time and a fluid rhythm. She loads back well into her lower half and extends well through the ball. She has a fast barrel through the zone and can hit for power to all fields.
