04/29/2018 - College PREP - Long Island, NY Mikayla is a 2019 right handed catcher and second baseman with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, she gets around the ball well on her blocks keeping it in front and stays balanced in her set up. She has quiet hands when receiving the ball and accurate throws to bases. At second base, she has fluid footwork and stays low throughout each play. She has soft hands when fielding the ball and stays fluid in her action to the ball. She creates backspin on her release and keeps her throws on line to her target. Offensively, Mikayla has a square set up in the box and a short stride to the ball. She is smooth in her rhythm and gets to extension really well. She has the ability to spray the ball to all sides of the field. Overall, she is very coachable and if she continues to work hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
