01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mikey is a Softball Factory veteran and three-time Softball Factory All American. Our coaching staff always enjoys working with Mikey and this weekend was no different. She is a natural leader on and off the field. In the box, Mikey is very confident and has a good approach. She makes hard contact and is able to work the gaps. Behind the plate, Mikey has great energy. She communicates well with her defense and gives her pitcher a lot of confidence. She frames the zone well and becomes a wall for balls in the dirt. She has a strong arm and does not hesitate to challenge runners. Overall, Mikey has been a true pleasure to work with and our staff cannot wait to see where she plays collegiately.
07/09/2019 - 2019 Atlanta Legacy Showcase 16U Mikey returns to another Softball Factory event displaying her improvements and impressing with her positive energy and work ethic. Defensively, she is athletic in her set up and has quiet hands receiving the ball. She works really well with her pitchers and frames each pitch in the zone. She is explosive through her motion and aggressive on throw downs to bases. She makes strong and accurate throws and communicates well with her defense. Offensively, she is relaxed in the box and smooth in her rhythm. She uses her lower half well through her swing and drives through the zone with her barrel. She makes hard contact consistently and shows good power to all sides of the field.
01/18/2019 - 2019 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mikey is a 2021 with an athletic skill set. In the box Mikey is a RHH that uses a square stance with centered balance and a short stride. She loads her hands back with fluid rhythm. She takes a short, direct path the ball and generates fast bat speed. She makes consistent gap-to-gap contact. At times she can drop her hands causing her to miss out on her raw power. Behind the plate Mikey has a great presence that gives her pitchers confidence to work the zone. She is smooth the ball and has a firm glove in the zone. She has a quick reaction time and moves well to block. She gets rid of the ball quick and getting more over top with her arm slot will allow her to see decreases in her pop time. Overall Mikey is player to watch! As she gets stronger her skill set will continue to improve and she will prove to be an asset at the collegiate level.
11/14/2018 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Mikey returns to Softball Factory for her 3rd event. Throughout the event Mikey provide to be a leader on and off the field. Behind the plate, Mikey is able to lead her pitcher and set the pace of the game. She presents a good target, receives with sure hands and makes a clean transfer. She reads the ball in the dirt well and blocks with confidence, even with runners on. She is able to read batters well and does a great job of calling her own game. Working on a quicker transfer will allow her to see decreases in her pop time. In the box, Mikey is a confident hitter that is able to consistently put the ball in play. She is explosive to the ball and is able to work the gaps. Overall, Mikey is an athletic player with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level.
01/12/2018 - 2018 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mikey's dedication to the game has earned her Softball Factory Pre-Season All-American honors. In the box, Mikey shows good pitch recognition and consistently puts the ball in play. She is able to hit to all fields and shows power potential. Working to finish through contact will allow her to see more gap production. Behind the plate, Mikey is a vocal player. She presents her glove on time and works to frame pitches back to the zone. She reads the ball in the dirt and is quick to get around the ball. Working to say low while making her transfer will allow her to get more momentum behind her throws. Overall, Mikey is a hard-working player with the tools needed to play at the next level.
