03/01/2020 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Rachel is a 2022 two-way player as a C/SS. In the box, Rachel is a RHH that uses an open stance. She loads back, takes a short, square stride and created fluid rhythm. She makes hard, consistent contact and shows gap to gap power. Working to engage her lower half more will allow her to see continued power production. Behind the plate, Rachel has a good presence. She presents a good target, looks the ball in and does a nice job of framing the zone. She reads the ball in the dirt and does a nice job of blocking. She gets in line with her target and makes accurate throws. Working to make a quicker exchange and gaining ground to her target will allow her to see improvements in her pop time. At SS, Rachel handles the routine play well. She shows efficient footwork and smooth on the double play. She has a short arm action and makes accurate throws. Working to present her glove sooner and playing through the ball will allow her to cover more ground. Overall, Rachel is an athletic player with the tools needed to play at the next level.
