06/02/2016 - College World Series Select Training Rachel is a 2020 1B/RHP with a balanced skill set. Defensively, Rachel displays good pre pitch movement and has soft, sure hands when fielding the ball. She stay low throughout her fielding position and gets back to the bag well at first. Rachel works hard and receives the ball well for her defense. By working on better footwork overall, Rachel will become more fluid and more effective as a first baseman. Offensively, Rachel has a strong base and correct mechanics at the plate. She activates her hands on her load and extends through the ball well. Rachel also rotates her core for solid coordination. By working on being quicker to the ball and being more explosive on the lower half, Rachel will become more of a powerful threat at the plate. Overall, Rachel is a player that listens well and adjusts when she's told. She is a young athlete that we will enjoy watching grow.
