02/26/2017 - College PREP - Middletown (Hartford), CT Rianne is a 2018 catcher with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Rianne has active footwork and has good range in all directions. She is low in her setup and receives the ball well with little to no movement. Rianne works well with her momentum and has short arm action for quick, on-line throws to her target. Offensively, Rianne is square/athletic in her stance and takes a soft stride to contact. She loads well in her legs and works together with her hips/hands. Rianne displays hard contact and squares up the ball nicely. She stays controlled in the box, is a line drive hitter and swings hard through the zone on each pitch. By working on extending more through the ball, Rianne will gain even more strength and consistency at the plate. Overall, Rianne is a great athlete and will continue to work on what is needed to take every part of her game to the next level.
