01/13/2023 - Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Riley is a 2026 graduate who pitches out of Mansfield, LA. She has a good attitude. Pitching wise, she has a curve, rise and screw hitting a top speed on her curve with 54MPH. She has a good riseball movement. Riley gets to extension and hits gap to gap shots. She continues to show strides of reaching her full potential with the progress she's making. She is mentally tough and has a strong set of skills on the diamond.
01/14/2022 - 2022 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Riley is a talented 2026 RHP out of Mansfield, LA who attended the Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All America Tournament! Pitching wise, she throws a curve ball, screw ball, and rise ball. She has a great presence, drives her legs well, spins the ball tightly with her fingertips, and has a great finish on her pitches! Hitting wise, she has a great setup in the box, drives her lower half well, is powerful at the plate, and is a line drive hitter. Overall, Riley is a great teammate and someone that our coaching staff always enjoys working with!
01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Riley continues to show as a prospect on the field. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. She has good stride length and throws with an intent. Fastball showed a range of 53-55 mph. Screwball sits 52-54 mph with sink. Rise ball sits 53-55 mph with tight spin. Control is outstanding as she throws strikes with all her pitches. At the plate, she continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (67 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Riley Palmer is a 2026 RHP and 1B with a strong skill set. Offensively, Riley has an open setup and short stride to the ball. Her barrel is on-plane through the zone and has a short swing to the ball. She sees the ball out of the pitchers hand well and with work on staying inside the ball she will increase her overall power production. In the circle, Riley has a confident presence and aggressive mindset. She attacks batters right away and gets ahead in the count early. She has the ability to strike out batters with different speeds and locations. Her arm action is fluid, hip direction is open and her finish is controlled.
07/31/2019 - Softball Factory World Series - Futures Riley is a 2026 right handed pitcher with a developing skill set. On the mound, she has a calm mound presence and extends through well on her release. She is athletic in her balance and keeps a fluid arm circle in her pitching motion. She is controlled in her mechanics and hits her spots well. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and loose hands to the ball. She activates her lower half well through her swing and keeps her barrel level through the zone. She makes hard contact to the opposite side and drives through the ball well. Overall, Riley is engaged at all times and has great work ethic.
07/07/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Riley shows solid command on her pitches in the circle. She attacks the strike zone every pitch and mixes her speeds well. Her best pitch is her screw ball and she creates tight spin behind her release. She has great control on her change up and can throw this pitch in any count. She stays balanced in her pitching motion and controlled through her arm circle. Offensively, she is square and athletic in her stance and on time in her stride. She keeps her barrel level through the zone and is explosive through contact. Overall, Riley continues to work hard and have a great attitude. If she continues to do so, she will improve her game and take it to the next level.
