11/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Roxana is an athletic SS/OF who has a bright future on the field. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as she displays smooth/easy actions. Feet are active as she attacks ball and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean and she presents well out front. In the OF, she takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind and plays through with momentum to her target. Throws are accurate with on line carry to her target. At the plate she continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. She has strength in her swing and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach.
12/27/2019 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Prospects) Roxana Smithson is a 2023 shortstop with a strong skill set and a bright future. Defensively, Roxana is agile and creates good angles to the ball. Her hands are out in front of her body when receiving ground balls and she has a clean exchange of the ball from her glove to her hand. Offensively, Roxana is a line-drive hitter with explosive bat speed. Her rhythm is on-time and she can spray the ball to all areas of the field. Overall, Roxana is coachable and focuses on improving her overall strength as a player.
11/20/2019 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Roxana Smithson is a 2023 right-handed shortstop with a strong skill set. Defensively, she reads the ball well off the bat and makes plays. Her exchange is clean and her throws are accurate and her arm action is quick. She consistently makes plays and has an aggressive mindset. By fielding out in front, she will be able to more consistently move through the ball. Offensively, Roxana has an athletic setup and controlled stride to the ball. She loads well into her lower half and has fluid movements. Her barrel is fast through the zone and she makes hard contact consistently. She can hit for power and has the ability to hit to all fields. Overall, Roxana is a team player who works hard with a clear passion to play at the next level.
