01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Samantha continues to show as a prospect on the field. At the plate is where she shows best through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. She makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. At 3B, she displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as she displays proper footwork as she works to square ground balls up and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry to her target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Range is a plus as she moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
12/27/2019 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Prospects) Samantha Guercia is a 2023 right-handed third baseman with a developed skill set. Defensively, Samantha has an athletic setup and efficient footwork. She creates good angles to the ball and shows agility in her lateral range. She fields out in front with quick hands and transfer the ball out fast for an accurate throw to her target. She has efficient double play feeds and footwork and can make every routine play. Offensively, Samantha has an open stance and loads well into her lower half. Her balance is centered and her barrel is fast through the zone. She makes hard contact consistently and has an aggressive mindset at the plate.
06/21/2019 - College PREP - Waleska (Atlanta), GA Samantha returns to an other Softball Factory even displaying her strong work ethic and great attitude. She continues to improve on her skills and shows how agile she is on defense. At third base, she has active feet and stays low through each play. She has a clean exchange on her throws to her target and keeps the ball in the infield. In the outfield, she stays light on her feet and reads the ball well off of the bat. She takes good angles back on the ball and has a strong and accurate arm behind her throws. Offensively, she is athletic in the box and smooth with her hands through the zone. Her hips and hands work well together through her swing and she makes hard contact to the opposite side. Overall, Samantha continues to impress and will reach her goals.
11/08/2018 - Softball Factory Select Training & Competition at Historic Dodgertown (Grad Years 2019-2023) Samantha returns for the Softball Factory Select Training & Competition. Since her last outing, Samantha proved to the coaching staff that she is ready to take her game to the next level. She has made improvements to all her tool grades. In the box, Samantha is a RHH that uses a square stance with a back load and fluid rhythm. She generates fast bat speed, is direct to the ball and shows power to the pull side. Working to keep her weight back will allow her to see more power to all fields. At 3B, Samantha has active footwork and shows range to her glove side. She presents her glove on time and fields with sure hands. She uses the proper arm slot, gains ground to her target and makes accurate throws. Working to make a quicker transfer will allow her to make sure outs on tough plays. Overall, Samantha is an athletic player the tools and work ethic needed to play at the collegiate level.
06/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Samantha is a 2023 two-way player as a 3B/OF. In the box, Samantha is a RHH that uses a square stance with centered balance. She works to put the ball in play and shows line drive power to the pull side. Working to see the ball deeper in the zone will allow her to see consistency to all fields. At 3B, Samantha handles the routine play well. She has a good pre-pitch approach, stays low through and presents her glove on time. She gets in line with her target and makes accurate throws. Working to smoother in her back-hand approach will allow her to make a quicker transition. In the OF, Samantha is an agile player that reads the ball well. She takes the proper angles to the ball and does a nice job of playing through the ball. She gets in line with her target and makes accurate throws. Working to keep the ball lower will allow her cuts to make a play on the ball when needed. Overall, Samantha is a hard working player and with continued coaching she will be able to take her game to the next level.
