07/12/2018 - Advanced Training and Competition at the International Cup (Grad Years 2023-2025) Sofia is a 2023 right handed pitcher and first baseman with a strong skill set. On the mound, she has a confident presence and extends through well on her release. She keeps an open hip direction and stays tall in her finish. She is strong in her legs and drives off of the mound well. She has good movement on her pitches and with continued work she will just keep getting better. Defensively, she has active feet and stays athletic in her fielding position. She has a clean exchange on her throws to her target and stays fluid through the ball. She makes accurate throws and keeps her momentum going through each play. Offensively, she has a short stride to the ball and a firm front side through her swing. She keeps her bat path on plane with the ball and has a strong base in the box. Overall, Sofia is very athletic and if she continues to work hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
