06/18/2018 - Softball Factory World Series (Grad Year 2023-2025) Sophia is a 2023 right handed outfielder and first baseman with a developing skill set. In the outfield, she has active feet and is agile in her range to the ball. She stays square in her fielding position and creates good momentum coming through the play. She positions herself well behind the ball and has a clean exchange on her throws to her target. At first base, she makes accurate throws on double plays and makes routine plays well. She sits a little too high in her legs so if she can work on getting lower and staying low through the ball she will start to keep more balls from getting to the outfield. Offensively, she has a short stride to the ball and stays center in her balance. She is on time with her hands through the zone and shows good pop behind her contact. Overall, once Sophia gains more confidence in her abilities and continues to work hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
