03/18/2018 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Tya is a 2021 right handed catcher with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has a square fielding position and soft hands when receiving the ball. She is short in her action and has an accurate arm on her throws to bases. She blocks the ball well and get her body over top of the ball really well. Offensively, she has an athletic set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She loads back well and is fluid in her rhythm. She stays center in her balance and has a fast bat through the zone. She makes consistently hard contact and shows power to her pull side. Overall, Tia has great work ethic and if she continues to work hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
